Bangkok, the vibrant capital city of Thailand, is a bustling metropolis that seamlessly blends rich cultural heritage with modern urban life. Traveling in Thailand is particularly advantageous for international visitors, as the value of dollars and euros stretches significantly further than in many other destinations. This favorable exchange rate allows travelers to indulge in a variety of experiences, from exquisite dining options to luxurious accommodations, while still being mindful of their budgets. Introducing this Le Méridien Bangkok review for anyone looking for high value
Detailed Review
1. Booking and Check-In Experience
Check-in was great. Even though our flight was delayed by 3 hours, I loved that they were kind and accommodating. Although the lobby was quite stale and, in my opinion, had a bad color scheme, I appreciate that they are trying to provide some sense of modernity.
2. Room Quality
Everything in the room was great. I felt like the most basic room was already very nice, with free snacks, a big room, a good layout, and very comfortable bedding. I always appreciate it when the most basic king-size room is this nice; it can only make me imagine how nice the bigger rooms and suites are. It was on a pretty high floor, and I liked that there wasn’t any noise issue.
3. Amenities and Facilities
Amenities in the hotel were perfect for anyone traveling under 30: a sizeable gym, a pool to chill, and a full-service spa. They even have a foreign exchange service, although the rate is terrible, as expected at all tourist places. The amenities weren’t luxury or special in any way; it is enough for me, but I feel like a lot of hotels don’t have this feeling for me.

4. Dining Experience
The only thing I tried was breakfast, because who wants to only eat hotel food when they are traveling? The breakfast was included in my stay, and I believe it was amazing. The taste wasn’t bad, very spicy for my taste, but I think that’s just because my tolerance is low. However, the presentation and service when they brought it to the room were great; I appreciated that.

5. Staff and Service
Overall, the staff from the front desk to housekeeping were all exceptional in their roles, contributing significantly to my positive experience during my stay. Throughout my stay, I found that the staff was consistently attentive to my needs. Whether it was a simple request for extra towels or assistance with navigating the area, they responded promptly and efficiently. This level of service surpassed my expectations and was particularly notable when compared to my experiences at various hotels in the United States, where I often encountered delays or a lack of personal touch.
6. Location and Accessibility
The hotel wasn’t the most convenient; it is quite far from all the touristy areas, but the Le Méridien Bangkok is located near Patpong Night Market. The hotel offers easy access to Sala Daeng BTS and Sam Yan MRT stations, and it is less than an hour from Suvarnabhumi International and Don Muang Airports, so not too bad. There is enough for you to do, with plenty of massage places and food options if you don’t want to go out.
7. Value for Money
In my experience, this is one of the highest value hotels I’ve ever traveled to. I know I probably haven’t stayed in Thailand enough to call this high value, and I would like to make a lot more trips to Thailand to see if other hotels provide this high value. The average Marriott hotels are around 150-200 per night in Bangkok, which is like Holiday Inn prices in the States. Having stayed at Le Méridien in the US at 2-4 times the price, I’m telling you none of them are even close to this one. Therefore, I’m giving 8/10 for value for money.
