My Bali experience was amazing, and the accommodation played a significant role in making it memorable. This was one of two hotels I stayed in during my trip, and I would currently rank it among the top five hotels I’ve ever stayed at.
1. Booking and Check-In Experience
The overall check-in process was easy and straightforward. They welcomed us with a refreshing drink. To our surprise, we were upgraded to the Andaz Suite, and the staff personally escorted us to our room.
2. Room Quality
This was one of the most spacious rooms I’ve ever stayed in. It featured two 65-inch TVs with Chromecast, a patio overlooking a quiet part of the hotel, and a luxurious bathroom with double vanities, a comfortable tub, and a vanity room. The room was impeccably clean, and the complimentary minibar included some local Balinese beer—a thoughtful touch. There were quite a few bugs around the hotel, which is understandable given Bali’s tropical climate. However, the hotel made great efforts to eliminate as many as possible. I had zlittle to zero complaints overall.
3. Amenities and Facilities
The amenities were satisfactory, including a fitness center, meeting spaces, and numerous resort activities. The pool, however, was often crowded with children running around. While the hotel doesn’t have its own spa, they share one with the Hyatt Regency Bali, located just a few minutes away. Golf carts are available to transport guests between the two properties. The only complaint I had was that the beach wasn’t the cleanest, but it offered a stunning view of the sunrise.
4. Dining Experience
The only meal I tried was breakfast, which, while not exceptional in taste, offered an impressive variety of options. The buffet featured numerous local dishes, making it enjoyable to try something new each morning of our stay. I’ve heard good things about the other dining options, so it might be worth exploring them during your visit.
5. Staff and Service
The hotel staff were friendly and provided exceptional service throughout our stay. They fulfilled even the simplest requests, such as transporting guests via golf carts between hotels, notifying us about delivery orders, and occasionally surprising us with thoughtful gestures. Their attentiveness enhanced our overall experience
6. Location and Accessibility
The hotel is located on the east side of Bali, not too far from Ubud, which is home to many tourist attractions. However, it’s quite far from shopping and nightlife areas, but this makes it ideal for families with young children or those seeking a more relaxed and peaceful stay.
7. Value for Money
At $240 USD per night, the experience felt like exceptional value for money. The stay was smooth, comfortable, and included some delightful surprises. The free breakfast offered the most variety I’ve ever seen. If the hotel could add its own spa and improve the cleanliness of the beach, there would be little left to critique.
Conclusion and Recommendation
I would 100% recommend Andaz Bali to anyone visiting Bali who isn’t looking for a party scene but wants an adventurous, yet calm trip. There’s plenty to do, and sometimes you can book a stay for just 17,000 points—meaning you could get 3-4 nights with the Hyatt credit card. Be mindful of the rainy season, as I’ve heard it can dampen the experience.
